FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What’s the deal with Brick & Mortar?

Vignettes™ has partnered with the Downtown Business Association to bring you 5 unique storefronts transformed by architects, designers, artists, makers and builders. These local businesses can trial their products and services in show stopping retail spaces that are popping up in downtown Edmonton. Dates TBD.

Why is it called a festival?

Every year Vignettes™ teams up with the Edmonton design community in a month-long celebration known as the Vignettes™ Festival. Although this year is a bit different, we've still embodied the same principles for this project; Bringing together local designers, architects, makers, and suppliers by fostering collaboration through radical design and celebrating their work throughout this festival.

Is this festival free?

YES! This month-long festival is open to the general public Tuesday - Saturday (Store hours may vary) dates TBD. These storefronts are located on 10043 108 St NW. (Attached to the Capital apartment building). In addition, there are many exciting paid programming events throughout the course of the festival.

Note: Due to social distancing measures, store capacity is limited so please dress accordingly and be prepared for a brief wait outside.

Do I have to be vaccinated?

In order for us to host an in-person festival in the safest way possible, we are asking festival goers 12 years and older to show proof of vaccinations (Both digital and paper forms accepted) or an approved note of medical exemption. At this time, we will not be accepting negative Covid-19 tests to gain entry into the festival during this current state of public health affairs in Alberta.

This was a difficult decision to make as we understand this is not inclusive of the entire Edmonton community. Because we are not considered an essential business, our decision to proceed in this manner was to take the lowest risks possible and to place public health and safety above all.

For those who are interested in shopping or attending programming and are unable to show proof of vaccinations or an approved note of medical exemption, we invite you to take part in our Curb Side Pickup options and/or experience our events digitally and through social media. Thank you for your kindness and understanding.
